Betting the Inside or the Outside

When it comes to roulette there are two ways to bet the inside of the table or the outside. When talking about the inside of the table, it refers to betting on specific numbers or groups of numbers. For example, betting on 23 is considered an inside bet. A bet made on any specific numbers or groups of numbers is considered an inside bet.

An outside bet is anything bet on the outside of the table, so betting on black or even is an outside bet. An outside bet is also any group of numbers for instance betting on a column or a third of the table say 1-12.

Typically players will play one or the other while playing. In most cases betting on the inside allows players to make smaller bets than the outside. So a player could make 15 $1 bets to meet a table minimum while betting the inside of the table. Regardless of where you are betting understanding your odds is key.
