As a Las Vegas local my decision as to what casino to visit is often based on the ease of the experience. Convenience is King! So, when I have an extra hour in my day, $20 bucks burning a hole in my pocket, and want to grab a bite and maybe play a machine or two visiting the new Durango Station was on the top of my list.

First, it’s new so that’s exciting. Second, it’s a Stations Property so odds are the place is laid out well, clean, staff is friendly and slot machines aren’t tight.

I only had an hour between appointments so not a lot of room for error. I pulled up to the Casino Valet which is conveniently located off of the 215 and Durango (hence the name of the joint) and was greeted by a friendly valet who took my car immediately. Valet is FREE by the way. Not $35 – $50 like many Strip properties.

I entered the casino entrance which brought me directly into one of the best food halls in Las Vegas (the food hall warrants a full review in the future). There are multiple kiosks right at the entrance to get a new players card, break a bill, or place a sports bet.

In the one hour I had to spare my goal was to grab a quick bite to eat and then gamble a bit if I had time. I went directly to The George Sportsman Lounge which is the best new sports book & bar in Las Vegas – by far! The lounge is integrated into the STN Sportsbook, has the largest TV screens of any venue in the Valley, and utilizes BettorView technology to display live betting odds.

I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and had time to hit a slot machine on my way out. I saw a new Buffalo Machine which is a fan favorite so put $20 bucks in the machine. Turned $20 into $53 in a matter of minutes. Well, that covered my salmon, the tip, and $5 bucks for valet.
